Separate the Trailer Fault from the Tractor

A trailer lighting or braking concern may appear only with one tractor attached. Include both unit numbers and describe whether the symptom follows the trailer or changes with the connection. Note recent coupling, tire, wheel-end, or electrical work. That context helps define the inspection without assuming the fault is inside the trailer.

For doors, liftgates, floor damage, or suspension work, explain whether the trailer can arrive empty and what access is available. Keep refrigeration alarms separate from chassis defects so the correct equipment history accompanies each concern.

  • Trailer VIN and type
  • Tractor used when the concern occurred
  • Loaded or empty status and access restrictions
