Lube, Oil, and Filter Changes FAQ

What do lube, oil, and filter changes include?

A lube, oil, and filter change include draining the old motor oil, replacing it with new clean oil, and changing the engine's oil filter and other filters (such as air, fuel, fuel/water separator, transmission, and hydraulic) if applicable. The technician will also check all other fluids (e.g., coolant), inspect hoses & belts for signs of wear & tear, and top off any low fluids before completing the service.

How often should I get an oil change?

It is a rule of thumb to arrange an oil change every 10,000 - 25,000 miles depending on your heavy-duty truck make/model/year and amount of stopping and going. Light-duty trucks and smaller vehicles typically should be changed every 5,000 miles. Additionally, it is always best to refer to your owner's manual for specific recommendations regarding when to have an oil change on your vehicle.

Why do I need a lube job?

A lube job helps prevent metal-to-metal contact between moving parts inside the engine by lubricating them with special oils or greases. The lubrication ensures that these components don't rub against each other too much, which can cause excessive heat build-up & damage over time - leading to costly repairs down the line.
